TWO 40TH ANNIVERSARY SHELBY COBRA DAYTONA GUITARS! CARROLL SHELBY

⭕ A once in a lifetime opportunity for the serious guitar enthusiast or collector. Two 40th Anniversary Shelby Cobra 289 FIA Daytona guitars are being auctioned as one lot. There were only 28 of these masterpieces custom built by Jarrett Guitars, LLC. in Westport, CT. This auction is for the first one built and the pre production prototype model. These two guitars are the rarest and most desirable of an already miniscule, limited production run.

Shelby is best known as the creator of the vaunted Shelby Cobra and GT-40. However, in a career that spanned well more than a half century, he was involved with an estimated 165 car projects, with GM, Chrysler, and Ford. His involvement in uncounted high performance machines enlivened and revolutionized the auto world. Beyond his efforts in the small world of hot rodding, Shelby broadly influenced how Detroit automakers thought about high performance, not just power, but weight and handling.

The litany of significant automobiles he created began with the original Cobra, and included a stint at Chrysler that included work on the Viper, projects with GM, and a return to Ford. He was involved with the development of the Ford GT 500 Mustang, and the 2013 version is certified by the Society of Automotive Engineers as the most powerful regular production car in the world.

Although Shelby was best known as a car designer and builder, his historic life began with a very successful career as a race driver, from 1952-1960. In 1957, Sports Illustrated named Shelby, Driver of the Year. In 1959, co driving an Aston Martin, Shelby won the 24 Hours of Lemans. He was inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame and the Motorsports Hall of Fame in America.

Shelby transcended the auto industry and was associated with many projects that werent specifically car related. Two of his more unusual products were a line of chili seasonings and a mens deodorant. The most interesting of these was his collaboration with a few guitar companies. The final project was the 2009 Fender FSR Shelby Stratocaster, of which 98 were produced. The rarest is the 2002 40th Anniversary Shelby Cobra Guitar series.
