The neighbourhood

St Lucia is one of the Caribbeans most beautiful islands and the perfect vacation destination.

ABOUT REDUIT BEACH:
Reduit Beach is about ten minutes walk from the property and the best beach on the island. It is also the liveliest, especially at weekends. It is the perfect place to relax and soak of some Caribbean sun - with more than a mile of golden sand and beautiful views over to the iconic double humps of Pigeon Island.
Reduit Beach is ideal for swimming as the beach shelves gently into the turquoise sea, and there is a wide range of watersports to be enjoyed. The southern end of the beach has many beachfront bars and there are plenty of places to grab a drink or meal.

ABOUT PIGEON ISLAND:
Pigeon Island is a national park, and home to the ruins of Fort Rodney which was built by the British in the 18th century. It is, however, no longer an island - a causeway was built in the 1970s. You can explore via the marked trails, climb to the top of the fort, and enjoy the stunning views, including back to Reduit Beach.

ABOUT RODNEY BAY:
Rodney Bay is St Lucias main resort. Just a short stroll away from the house, youll find a wide range of shops, bars and restaurants to choose from. You can dine out and enjoy Thai, Indian, Chinese, sushi, Italian and French cuisine as well as Creole and Caribbean food all within a short distance from our house.
In Rodney Bay Marina, there are several cafés which offer views over the yachts in the harbour and inexpensive lunches and light dinners.
The local nightlife is also great and there are many bars to choose from - try the cocktails at Delirious or try your luck at the Treasure Bay Casino in Rodney Bays Baywalk Mall.

FURTHER AFIELD:
St Lucias crystal clear waters, colourful coral reefs and tropical fish make it the perfect holiday destination for snorkelling or scuba diving enthusiasts.
Soufrieres Sulphur Springs are a popular tourist attraction and a fun day trip. Their therapeutic mud is believed to help with a number of different ailments. Cake on the mud, dry in sun and rinse in the volcanic pools for super soft skin!
More than 20 species of whale and dolphin live in the waters around St Lucia, making a whale-watching boat trip an absolute must-do whilst you are on the island. Or, between March and April, you can see Leatherback turtles lay their eggs on Grand Anse beach.
The South West of St Lucia is dominated by the twin peaks of the Pitons. For a once in a lifetime experience, hike the Gros Piton on a guided walk and be rewarded with incredible views of the sparkling Caribbean Sea, rolling hills and lush rainforests.
If hiking isnt for you, there are a number of locations where you can soar or glide through the rainforest on an aerial tram ride or an exhilarating zip-line adventure for wonderful views through the tropical forest.
Or, for a more laid back vibe, go on a Rhythm & Rum tour to visit the islands main distillery, and sample some rum to the sounds of steel band music.
Closer to Rodney Bay, the nearby fishing village of Gros Islet is the scene of a renowned and very lively street party every Friday evening: the Gros Islet Jump Up. Wander past stalls selling barbecued fish and chicken, or crabmeat, pause to enjoy the rum punches, or a chilled bottle of Piton beer as the sound systems play loud Caribbean beats, and crowds gather to dance, people watch and party.
