⭕ This is the ultimate modern Les Paul.It is a 1968 Les Paul Goldtop Standard with a small peghead.This is the 1st version of the Les Paul when it was reintroduced in 1968.Players had been screaming for years for Gibson to begin building the Les Paul again.Well,this is it.It really is more like a 1956 than a 57-60.This one is a great one.First of all,it has had NO BREAKS or repairs.Agian,it has the small peghead which is like the 50s models.There is no volute nor Made In the USA on the back of the peghead.It simply has the serial number which is 520....It has a one piece Mahogany body with a two piece top.The binding is wider in the cutaway area as it should be.All of the electronics appear to be original,however someone has put copper shielding in the control cavity.It has a long neck tenon like the early models.It is missing the pickguard,and the tuning machines were replaced at one time,but the originals are back in place.The guitar is in very good condition with a completely original finish. There are a few bumps and nicks but overall very nice.There is a small spot of beltbuckle wear on the back.This is one of the hottest guitars on the current vintage market.I dont know production numbers, but there cant have been many of these made before the switch to the larger peghead.This one comes in an original hardshell case.
