⭕ This rare, Heathkit SS9000 is in good operating condition and is in good physical condition (Minor scratches on cabinet). The transmit audio is very nice with just a basic hand mic that is included(Non-Heathkit). The receive audio is loud and clear, and has a very smooth sound quality to it. The Pass Band Tuning is very effective and works well. The CW wide, medium, and narrow filters work nicely and really take out the QRM. The AGC fast and slow modes function properly, but I wish the slow mode had a longer time constant. Turning off the AGC and manually adjusting the RF gain works very well also. The dual VFO displays are very intuitive, and easy to use for split operation. The matching power supply works very well and has two clocks- one for local time and the other for UTC. This is a very cool, 1980s vintage rig that is fun and easy to operate. It is probably one of Heathkits best rigs, and only a few were made.
