⭕ This factory 935 930/76 case is numbered *6772901*. This is the same engine number Porsche 935 77 customer car chassis number was assigned by Porsche that was sold new to Martino Finotto of Italy.

Originally the 1977 customer 935s were delivered with the 930/72 2.8 liter engine. This is a 930/76 3.0 liter engine case . According to Bruce Andersons book, Porsche 911 Performance Handbook, some race teams switched to the 930/76 configuration when it was introduced which produced 630HP @ 7900 RPM vs the 930/72s 590HP @ 7900 RPM at the same boost setting.

This engine has factory stampings and what looks to be a date code (needs to be confirmed) stamped into the case (see 3rd photo) of 38/77 which I believe is the 38th week of 1977 or the month of September. Most likely was built for the Finotto car since it carries the engine number for chassis # however I have no documentation verifying this.
