1966 RICKENBACKER 4005 GUITAR

⭕ This is like new condition RICKENBACKER 4005 body with vintage electronics and hardware, including strap pegs, keywinds, and very rare 4005 R tailpiece.

The finish is Fireglo, over a nicely-figured maple body, back, and neck. The sound hole is bound, and the back has the trademark Rickenbacker checkerboard purfling and white binding in genuine celluloid, as did the original. The fret markers are crushed sparkle pearl, new fretboard is nicely-grained bubinga.

Original 4005s have a neck set into a pocket, with most of the center being hollow. They will often need a neck reset due to use of high-tension Rotosound strings. This bass was specifically created with a full-length center block and an interlocking tongue on the glued-in neck, so its much stronger than an original, with less howl and much more sustain.

Seldom-played with very nice action and tone from its 2 scatterwound toaster pickups. Currently fitted with T-I flatwound strings. August 66 (FH) serial number.

Includes custom-made bulletproof Ameritage hard shell case with plush lining, humidifier and electronic humidistat. Tan ballistic nylon cover with burgundy vinyl end caps. Guitar and case together weigh 37 pounds.
