⭕ Without a doubt, the most outstanding large whistle in Eds lifetime collection of steam whistles. This is a 12 diameter bell ASHTON VALVE steam whistle with a balanced LUNKENHEIMER 300 psi valve. Starting from the top, the acorn is 4 1/2 tall; the bell is 24 1/2 tall, with a 13 shoulder on top. Overall height is 50 and the lip on the bowl is 13 1/2 in diameter. The weight is 230 pounds. The steam inlet is 3 npt and is bushed down to 2 1/2 to accommodate the separate balanced LUNK valve. There is a heavy four-legged centering spider and a ribbed spreader plate. The fulcrum has an old, clean and proper repair and the lever has been modified to fit around the oversized bowl.
