Low friction table traverse is assured by using precision needle rollers as the bearing medium, operating within vee and flat slideways. Table movement is controlled, through the adjustable handwheel, by a toothed belt arrangement that gives the correct degree of feel, essential for effective manual grinding. On the cross traverse axis precise movement is made on automatically lubricated vee slideways, with a centrally positioned, fully enclosed leadscrew providing positive direct control. Designed to provide grinding cuts as small as 0.00005 (0.001mm) increment, the precision wheelhead moves vertically on the preloaded ball and roller bearings, that ensure sensitivity and stability. Added to these outstanding features, each version can accept a host of the very best in extra equipment, extending to the full the grinding versatility of the machine -- and its operator.
