⭕ This is a pair of Chartwell LS3/5a compact monitor loudspeakers in teak.They are the 15 ohm impedance version,built in 1978.My father-in-law heard the pair my future husband bought and decided he had to have a pair,too!They stayed on clamp-type brackets on the dining room wall for the next thirty years,playing Radio 3 from a Quad 303/33/FM3 combination,until his death.
I think the condition is evident from the photographs. The grilles were removed for the first time today to photograph the drive units.There is a small amount of fading on the top veneer and a couple of tiny marks.Thats it.They sound as well today as when they were bought.
If you read the websites,you will see that this variant is popularly regarded as the best of the LS3/5as,and this is your chance to acquire a pair in not far off time-warp condition,certainly never raced or rallied!
