The Crypto Bantam

Introduced in 1893 by the Crypto Cycle Company. With its single speed crypto gearing mechanism within the front wheel hub, it was designed for those who could not come to terms with low, rear-wheel driven safety bicycles.

The Crypto is of greater rarity than the Penny Farthing if less spectacular. This one has been carefully restored this year.I believe all parts except the tyres to be original although we have had to line the front wheel rim with copper in order that the only modern tyre available fits it securely.
