⭕ Sidney Tushingham (1884-1968); South Porch, Lincoln Cathedral. c mid 20th C. drypoint etching. sheet 18 1/2 x 13 5/8; plate 12 1/2 x 8. Signed pencil LR; titled pencil LL. Artist stamp TL TR of plate. On wove paper, tipped into linen backing board at top left & right corners. Excellent condition. Provenance Wunderley Brothers of Pittsburgh.

Tushingham attended The Royal College of Art; he briefly painted vases for Royal Daulton in 1922. Besides print making, he was a society painter. Note the wonderful way he shows light and shadow on the porch face, you can feel the sun striking the left side.
